Atrial fibrillation is the most common cardiac arrhythmia. The two most common complications of atrial fibrillation are thrombi formation and heart failure. Using your underlying pathophysiology knowledge of AF, outline how these complications occur, treatment options and the appropriate nursing care and management for these patients.
