This paper is on the analysis on the role of the media, moreso televised media on the way television promoted a cultural shift on the society towards negativity. And the the end of the essay, the author hints that televised media contents is sometimes not necessary in order to promote peace and maintain cultural balance. This essay analyses cultural effects of covering the September 11, 2001 attack on the USA by terrorists and the coverage by the media. Literature reviewed by the author indicates that the media plays a key role in building or destroying the existing societal cultures.
