Business excellence has been used in this essay to refer to the outstanding practices adopted in managing organizations in order to accomplish the desired results-based on particular values and concepts. This is to enable firms to identify objectives that will position them towards the trajectory of excellence while revealing strong and or weak areas.  Then the identified weaknesses in return present invaluable opportunities for continuous improvement. Governments have encouraged the adoption of this trend for both private and public sectors organizations through the establishment of national quality awards. This essay has presented a critical assessment of the importance and application of Business Excellence Models in the Public Sector Organizations in the UAE with evidence from the Emirates National Oil Company which is a renowned international gas and oil player operating in the UAE energy sector.
